Antarctic Chieftain

In a NZ first, ATL was awarded the installation of the new revolutionary Simrad Argus Radar on the long line vessel Antarctic Chieftain. Interfaced to the Simrad Argus Radar was to be a Simrad 3G Broadband Radar to show any dangerous icebergs just off the bow, as the Antarctic Chieftain was about to head to the South Pole for Tooth Fish fishing. The Simrad Argus radar system is the only radar on the market that can have two radars input to the one radar processor and run simultaneously.

Commissioned by Bart Meltzer from ATL and two close partners - Mat Hooper from Navico along with Nelson agent Peter Halifax from Electronic Solutions.
